The Korean Association for the Social Studies Education (KASSE) has hosted international academic events yearly to promote intellectual exchange and further build a global network for those who work in social studies education. In 2022, the KASSE will talk with Prof. Keith C. Barton about his newly published book, co-authored with Prof. Li-Ching Ho, "Curriculum for Justice and Harmony: Deliberation, Knowledge, and Action in Social and Civic Education." Anyone interested in this event is welcome to join.

Social studies education cannot be completed within the classroom. Engaging with society constitutes an important part of citizenship education. What kinds of engagements are possible? What kinds of engagements have been created during the recent COVID-19 pandemic, when it was difficult to make practical connections outside the classroom? We would like to share initiatives from different countries and discuss future perspectives.
